| Human Resource Strategy in Transforming Organisations Participant Interview
“I returned to my company with a new perspective on the role of HR and some practical tools and ideas for integrating the HR function into business strategy” Alphonsus Keogh, Director, Siemens Executive & Leadership "As
the director of global senior management education programmes for my organisation,
I need to keep up-to-date with the latest HR thinking relating to corporate
strategy. I was looking for a course that would help me broaden my perspective
on the subject and some colleagues recommended Human Resource Lynda and her excellent team presented a relevant, balanced and well-paced programme that gave us the bigger HR picture but also focused on specific tools and techniques for integrating HR processes with business strategy. I was particularly impressed by the programme’s hands-on approach. In my view most courses focus too heavily on the theory but this one stood out by using case studies to show the strengths and weaknesses of HR processes in practice. Undoubtedly,
one of the highlights of the week was being able to network with people
from different countries and industries. Everyone was facing their
own challenges and it was quite an eye-opener to see how individuals were
handling them. It was reassuring, too, to put my own organisation into
perspective and By
the end of the week I was more convinced than ever that the HR function
has a major contribution to make to corporate strategy in general and
change management in particular. I also I returned to my company with a new perspective on the role of HR and some practical tools and ideas for integrating the HR function into business strategy. I also had a better understanding of the HR world in general and of how this will continue to change both in the short and long-term. I
believe that the learning I brought back to my organisation from London
Business School will have an impact in the longer-term; we are a large
company so I would expect to see change within the HR function over the
next one to two years. Specifically I hope that we will be able to demonstrate
more clearly how HR is
